On Friday, September 13th, the team from HPS Product Recovery Solutions embarked on an ambitious 20-mile trek along the Edale Skyline to raise funds for Improving Lives Notts, a local charity dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with long-term mental health challenges.

Edale Skyline Challenge

The Edale Skyline is renowned as one of the most challenging and scenic walks in the Peak District. This circular route covers 20 miles and includes an ascent of over 1,200 meters.

The walk took the team 9 hours to complete and we conquered the summits of notable peaks like Brown Knoll, Mam Tor, Back Tor, Lose Hill, and Win Hill.

The route offers breathtaking views of the Edale Valley and the surrounding Peak District, making it a popular choice for both seasoned hikers and those seeking a formidable personal challenge.

HPS Product Recovery Solutions’ Charitable Effort

We chose this demanding walk to support Improving Lives Notts, a charity close to our hearts. By taking on the Edale Skyline, we aimed to raise awareness for mental health issues, generate funds for crucial long-term support services, and challenge ourselves physically and mentally.

We had great success and raised over £800 for Improving Lives Notts, which will go towards helping Nottingham residents achieve independence and a better quality of life.

Why Improving Lives Notts?

Improving Lives Notts is a local charity that focuses on providing sustained support for individuals grappling with mental health challenges. Their work is particularly vital for those requiring long-term assistance that is often overlooked in short-term interventions.

Supporting a local charity was also important to us. As a community-based organisation, Improving Lives Notts has a unique insight into the challenges facing our community and those who use their services.

The Impact of the Challenge

By undertaking this 20-mile walk through some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside, we raised over £800 for Improving Lives Notts and increased awareness about mental health issues in our community.

The walk was also a great opportunity for some team bonding! From helping Kim through a field of cows to encouraging our walking partners to keep going on the last stretch, every member of the team completed the walk.
