HPS celebrated its 25th birthday on the 26th of February 2020.
In February 1995, HPS, originally known as Hygienic Pigging Systems, was formed. 25 years later, HPS is a global leader in hygienic (sanitary) pigging, as well as liquid product recovery, transfer and pipeline pigging solutions.
We are delighted to reach this milestone and would like to thank all our customers and employees. We couldn’t have reached this milestone without you!

25 Years of Pigging
HPS has achieved a lot since its beginnings way back in 1995.
It’s been 25 years of delivering high-quality pigging products and equipment as well as improving the processes of liquid processing companies.
25 years in which our top priority has always been customer satisfaction. 25 years of commitment to innovation. And 25 years in which our unrivalled start-up support and after-sales care have made us stand out from the competition.
So of course, we had to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Cake and a Toast to Future Success
This milestone 25th birthday provided an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the company’s history, while also looking to the future.
Employees at HPS celebrated in style with a daytime gathering, as well as evening activities.
The birthday celebrations commenced with a lunchtime gathering which included a buffet as well as, cake and a celebratory glass of fizz or two! Our CEO Gilbert Murphy reminisced on the humble beginnings of HPS and how he found a niche in the market.
Gilbert also spoke about his background and recollected the very first pigging systems that HPS installed. It was interesting to find out that the company made a profit in its first year of operating! This is quite rare, as most businesses usually don’t make any profit until at least 18 to 24 months.
Evening Celebrations
The celebrations didn’t end there. In the evening we celebrated in style with a game of bowling at Nottingham Bowl.
It turned out to be an extremely competitive and exciting game. Everyone was encouraging each other, while at the same time apprehensively checking each other’s score on the screen. Every time a strike was achieved, there were cheers of celebration. Although the competition was extremely tight, congratulations to our System Designer Manager Gary Joines for coming out on top!
After bowling, we enjoyed a lavish three-course meal and celebratory drinks at Bills Restaurant. It was a truly spectacular and memorable evening. Thanks to everyone that attended!
