Safety Features of HPS Pigging Systems

Safety in Design, Implementation and Operation

One of the primary reasons to use a reputable pigging system manufacturer like HPS, is to minimise the risk of accidents through safe equipment, system design, set up and operation.

Pigs travel at high speed and are quite heavy. If they leave the line when they shouldn’t do, they have the potential to cause damage to produce, equipment and worst of all, people.

HPS is a reputable pigging system manufacturer with an excellent track record of system safety. We’ve been designing and implementing pigging systems since 1996, so we know what we are doing.

Our systems, including the pigs, pig housings, launchers and receivers, include many safety features.

From the design of the pig itself (for example it does not contain any solid magnets), through to our detection systems, automation sequences, interlocks, venting, depressurisation and physical barriers, safety is given the number one priority.

We also insist on commissioning our systems and training users on safe operation, as well as maintenance and servicing.

This short video highlights some of the safety features in HPS pigging systems. For more details, here is a blog article about HPS pigging system safety.
