The Boots site in Nottingham produces and bottles all of Boots own products. It also has some dedicated contract packing lines to allow them to bottle other companies products.
HPS installed a Rotomatrix valve manifold system to greatly improve product transfer efficiency, speed and effectiveness.
The HPS Rotomatrix used in this project has 9 arms and 10 connections. The 2″ Rotomatrix allows nine of the mixing tanks to transfer to any of the 40 storage tanks through 10 manifolds. This is enables a wide range of beauty and personal care products, such as shampoo, conditioners, face creams and mouth wash to be transferred around the Boots site with ease.
HPS also supplied a 2″ single pig system for product recovery. It enables a line which runs the length of the factory to be pigged and recover the toothpaste and hand wash products from the line.
